Overview

On February 15, 2017, at the City Council’s Goals and Priorities Workshop, the Council identified the continued revitalization of the downtown as a City Council priority.

To ensure future downtown improvements reflect the community’s desires, the City Council appointed a Downtown Steering Committee whose main goal is currently to devise a public outreach approach that can be implemented in Fall 2017.  The public outreach approach will identify the information, materials, outreach tools, and methodologies needed to engage the community on future downtown development and improvements, with a particular focus on reaching a decision as early as possible about a downtown hotel.

Once the outreach program is reviewed and approved by Council, the City will commence with outreach to receive community feedback on downtown improvements. The community’s recommendations for downtown improvements will be considered by the City Council after the outreach efforts.
