What is the Downtown Steering Committee?

At the April 10, 2017 City Council meeting, the City Council approved a resolution to establish a 19-member Downtown Steering Committee. To ensure the Steering Committee reflects the variety of organizations that have been actively participation in downtown revitalization, the Council appointed members that represent a wide range of local community groups.

The Steering Committee’s primary task was to develop a public outreach plan.  The public outreach plan identifes ways to include all Livermore residents in the downtown planning process.  A comprehensive outreach process will ensure that future downtown development and improvements meet the community’s needs.  Steering Committee recommendations were forwarded to the City Council for consideration at the August 7, 2017 City Council meeting.
